FAQ for Educators

Q. Only my back yard is fenced is this okay?

A. This is okay, as long as the fenced area is large enough for children to run and play.

Q. Who supplies the nappies and food each day for the children?

A. The parents.

Q. How do I get paid?

A. We collect the money on your behalf from the parents. We pay you fortnightly regardless of whether the parents are up to date with their fees or not.

Q. Am I able to have some say in the child I accept for a childcare arrangement?

A. Yes.  When we have a child requiring childcare in your area we ask you first whether you would like to be interviewed by the parent.Your Mentoring Teacher will attend these interviews if requested.

Q. What written work would I be required to do?

A. We will provide full training to you on how to do this.  Every child has a profile book in which you record the child’s interests and strengths, events in their week, artwork and photos. Your Mentoring Teacher will support you with preparing an education plan for each child.  You will also be required to fill in a Care Diary daily, but again your Mentoring Teacher will be able to help you with this.

Q. What if I have a problem with one of the children in my care?

A. You will have your own Mentoring Teacher who is available to help you with any need you may have. We also have a Duty Teacher on call and is available 24/7.

Q. How do I contact you if I need more information?

A. You can either contact us via our contact page, fill in an application  click here or by phoning 0800 936-878 and talking to Denise
