Shaving Foam Painting

MATERIALS:

• Can of shaving foam
• Small amounts of paint
• Wipe-able table

STEPS:

1. Sit two toddlers at a low table. The table top should be wipe-able, or provide two large, plastic,low-sided trays.
2. Place a can of shaving foam on the table, explaining that they must not put any in their mouth or near their eyes. 
3. Squeeze out a reasonably large amount in front of each child. Place some in front of yourself.
4. Begin to manipulate the foam, spreading it, rubbing it on hands, squeezing it between fingers. Encourage the children to imitate your movements.
5. Offer them 2 saucers with a little paint on each, suggest they mix some with the foam. 

*Draw attention to the changing colour and make patterns in the foam. (Tip: the more expensive the foam, the longer it lasts.)
