At NURTURE we believe that young children are best cared for in a 'home like' environment. Research is showing more and more evidence that rich, loving relationships are crucial for children's brain development and well being.
We believe that children benefit by being with a Nanny or In-Home Educator who is committed to their well being, who can provide plenty of 'one of one' attention, and can provide rich learning experiences.
We are owned by a charitable trust who believes that the family is a building block for the wider community. The trust supports our work in strengthening the fabric of the family by educating children in a "family – like" way.
What types of care are available for me through NURTURE?
NURTURE NANNIES
Nannies come to your home and care for your child in their own environment. The Nanny might not be formally trained but will have experience with children, and a love for them. Nannies are paid by the families and must be paid at least the minimum wage. However, with the Government subsidies we can access, this may be more affordable then you think!
VOLUNTEER EDUCATORS:
You may be fortunate enough to have a grandparent or friend voluntarily helping with the care of your children. At NURTURE we are delighted to be able to provide some financial and education benefits for you.
IN-HOME CHILDCARE:
Educators remain in their own home and care for children there. This gives your child a 'home like' environment with a very small group of children. (maximum 4 preschoolers with only 2 under 2 years old). The cost of this care is very affordable. You may also qualify for the Work and Income Childcare Subsidy bringing the price down even further.
WORK AND INCOME CHILDCARE SUBSIDY
Work and Income will pay up to 9 hours of childcare per week for a 'stay-at-home' mum. If you are working Work and Income can pay up to a maximum of 50 hours.
